Head Pastry Chef – Midsummer House
Location: Midsummer House, Midsummer Common, Cambridge CB4 1HA
Salary: Up to£50,000 per annum (DOE) + Tips
Days: This is a full-time job, four days a week. The restaurant is open Wednesday to Saturday. Flexibility to work all shifts between all specified days is required.
Holiday: 5 weeks holiday (inclusive of 2 weeks over Christmas, 1 week in spring and 2 weeks in summer)

We are currently looking to expand the team by adding a Head Pastry Chef who is committed to providing an unparalleled service to our guests.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
To assist the Head Chef and kitchen team; ensuring that the food produced is of a high standard and is delivered in the time requested. Ensures a ‘positive’, ‘can do’ attitude.
- Preparation, cooking and serving all pastry courses and additional items throughout the menu
- Work alongside the Chef Patron and Head Chef
- Manage the team
- Develop new dishes for the menu alongside the Chef Patron and Head Chef
- Training and overseeing chefs within the team and work closely with them
- Stock control and waste management
- Costings
- Ensure the brigade follows health and safety regulations
- Work along side the head chef to maintain a safe and hygienic workplace
- Must have previous experience at Michelin level
- Demonstrate strong skills in chocolate work, bread preparation and lamination products
- Must be a team player, and willing to help where needed
