In anticipation of increasing scale and complexity of the business we’re now looking for a Head of Design.



The Head of Design
will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Booksy remains a design-driven organization. This leader will cultivate a team dedicated to creating products that are not only intuitive and easy to use for Providers but also inspiring and engaging for Customers. They will articulate and demonstrate the business value of user-centered design to the entire organization. Leading with agility, the Head of Design will guide the design team to execute projects efficiently, ensuring that innovative and impactful design solutions are delivered consistently.



Your responsibilities:

  • Design Strategy: Develop and articulate a comprehensive design strategy that aligns with the company's overarching business objectives. Champion the business value of intuitive and engaging design across the organization, ensuring all stakeholders understand its impact on user experience and commercial success.
  • Championing Design Innovation: Lead the exploration and adoption of cutting-edge design practices and technologies. Encourage the design team to innovate and experiment, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in product design to maintain and extend market leadership.
  • Project and Resource Prioritization: Manage and allocate design resources efficiently, prioritizing projects based on potential business impact. Strategically balance long-term innovation with immediate design needs to optimize outcomes.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Foster a design-driven culture within the organization. Ensure close collaboration between the design team and departments such as product management, engineering, and marketing to create designs that are not only aesthetically appealing but also functionally and commercially viable.
  • Data-Driven Design Decisions: Utilize data and user feedback to inform design decisions, ensuring that designs effectively meet user needs and enhance satisfaction. Lead the team in assessing the impact of design changes on user behavior and product performance, optimizing designs based on these insights.
  • Design Process Optimization: Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement within the design team. Implement best practices and tools that enhance productivity and ensure the highest standards of quality, usability, and engagement in all design outputs.
  • Hiring and People Development: Attract, retain, and develop top talent within the design team. Focus on providing the necessary resources and fostering an environment conducive to growth through targeted training, constructive evaluations, and personalized development plans.


Our requirements:
  • Strong proficiency in English. Demonstrates excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex design concepts and strategies clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Possesses a deep understanding of UX and UI design principles applicable across various platforms, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience.
  • Understands the technical aspects of design implementation, including familiarity with front-end development technologies and constraints, facilitating efficient collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Proficient in leading design software and methodologies, enabling the creation of innovative and cutting-edge designs.
  • Strong empathetic skills to deeply understand user needs and pain points, translating them into effective design solutions that significantly enhance user satisfaction.
  • Skilled in negotiation and influencing, adept at ensuring that design perspectives are incorporated into strategic decision-making processes.
  • Inspires and leads the design team with a compelling vision, fostering a creative and collaborative work environment that encourages innovation and high performance.
  • Expert in managing multiple teams, with a focus on coaching and developing leaders, effectively using performance management, constructive feedback, and goal-setting to support professional growth.
