Health Care Support Worker - Monmouthshire

The Health Care Support Worker will provide assistance and support to individuals with physical, mental, and emotional needs. The role involves helping clients achieve a higher level of independence, enhancing their quality of life, and ensuring their well-being through personal care, daily living assistance, and emotional support.

Key Responsibilities:
Personal Care:
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support clients with mobility, including using wheelchairs, lifts, and other aids.
- Help clients with feeding and ensuring they maintain a balanced diet.
- Assist clients with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
- Accompany clients to appointments, social activities, and community events.
- Help clients manage their finances, including budgeting and paying bills.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities.
- Support clients in developing social networks and participating in community life.
- Listen to clients' concerns and provide emotional reassurance and support.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor for any side effects.
- Assist with physical therapy exercises as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Observe and report any changes in clients' health or behaviour to the relevant healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and clients' progress.
- Ensure all documentation complies with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Report any incidents or concerns promptly and appropriately.
- Participate in training and development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Stay updated on best practices and new developments in care and support.
- Care certificate is desirable
- Previous experience in a care or support role is advantageous.
- Basic life support (BLS) and PMVA/ CPI certification is an advantage.
- Full Uk licence is required.
- Access to own car is desirable
- You must have the right to work within the UK
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compassionate and patient-focused attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, may be required.
- Physical demands such as lifting, moving clients, and standing for long periods.
- Working in clients' homes, residential care facilities, or community settings.

Pay: £11.50-£12.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
