Our Centre of Excellence in St Helen’s will provide global support and expertise to organisations in their sustainability journey, demonstrate disruptive technologies and generate innovative ideas that will have an impact all the way through the glass supply chain to the consumer.

The successful candidate will be an essential part of the team focused on the growth and success of this high-profile not-for-profit organisation. This role will be instrumental in supporting an operations team to prepare for the opening of our Global Centre of Excellence in St Helens in the upcoming months and will be integral in the support of the diverse project work which will follow. Working closely with and reporting to the Operations Shift Team Leader this role will have a variety of internal stakeholders and will be responsible for ensuring an excellent delivery of service to the wider Glass Futures team.
The successful candidate has the unrivalled opportunity to collaborate with leading experts from the glass and digital technologies sectors. Due to the nature of the business and St Helens project, a strong background in industry is highly advantageous for this role, however we are also open to hearing from exceptional experienced candidates with a wide scope of experience, demonstrable transferable skills, and core values to become an essential part of our team.
Core Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the safe operation of glass manufacturing and project-based equipment within a 24/7 shift-based operation
- Promote and lead the way in an exemplary safety culture within the St Helens site
- Ensure all relevant process documentation and records are completed and signed off
- Carry out machine/control/operational adjustments in line with SOP’s/SSOW
- Communicate all faults and production area issues to the Team Leaders
- Ensure product sampling in conjunction with the QA release of product is verified and documented with Laboratory Staff
- An advocate for the Glass Futures approach to culture, embodying our Values, Vision and Mission
- Knowledge of glass manufacturing processes (highly desirable)
- Knowledge of LOTO and permits to work, inclusive of Hot Work, WAH, etc.
- Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental compliance
- Ideally FLT trained (training will be provided where necessary)
- Basic First Aid and/or Fire Marshall qualifications (desirable)
