The Role

We have a brand-new role for a Cyber Security Engineer to join our IT Team! This is an exciting newopportunity to provide support in the cyber security space, to help us drive our Operational IT Strategy. Our systems and technologies are at the core of our organisation,and we want you to have a holistic understanding of our organisational securityneeds and help us to shape a positive and engaging security culture across thewhole of Inter Gen.
Along with travelling to our Power Stations, you will have the flexibility you need to do your best work withhybrid work options, where possible. You will be working in a dynamicenvironment where your integrity, entrepreneurial spirit and teamwork arechampioned.

The Team

You will work closely with the Cyber Security Manager on a day-to-day basis, but it wont stop there! Due tothe nature of the role, you will also engage regularly with colleagues acrossthe rest of our IT and Plant Engineering teams.

Summary of Responsibilities

You will be responsible for supportingall security and resilience aspects across the business, including strategy,policy, standards, and assurance. Supporting Vulnerability Management through the lifecycle, compliance with cyber securitypolicies, and responding to incidents will be an important part of your role. Youllconduct risk assessments, audits, and testing of security infrastructure.Collaborate with the Cyber Security Manager on incidents, root cause analysis,and continual service improvement and help develop resilience and incidentresponse plans to promote a positive security culture through education andawareness programs.
NIS Regulation
Consider the businesses technicalrequirements and implement the necessary changes where needed, youll guide Operational& Engineering (O&E) tasks required to maintain and progress us from Basic Profile to Enhanced Profile of the CAF whilst creating and developing efficientprocesses for NIS Directive compliance.
Strategy
Support strategic and operationalplanning for business goals by fostering innovation, prioritising security, andcoordinating security system evaluation and deployment. You will assist inestablishing security goals, objectives, and procedures, ensuring compliancewith relevant laws and identify cost-effective security system investments.
Administration
Help us in defining and assistingsecurity plans, policies and standards for acquiring and implementing new IT/OTsystems. Working alongside stakeholders to define business requirements for newtechnology and support business case justification and cost analysis for these.Youll perform maintenance activities like patching and upgrades and ensurecontinuous service delivery by monitoring the systems performance.
Support
Provide general support inrelation to OT and Security, using your expertise to identify and recommendsolutions for re-occurring issues. You will also assist the Infrastructure Teamwith IT support and projects, including back-up and disaster recovery withinthe O&E area.
Governance
Ensure we are adhering to policies,architectural standards and guidelines, operational processes and procedures, includingrelevant build and security standards, as well as compliance with anyregulatory standards and frameworks.
Other
You will be required to travel toall of Inter Gens UK sites when required and take part of the On-Call rotasystem.

Why you?

As our Cyber Security Engineer, you will have experience in a wide range of Cyber Securityareas and have Security Certification. Youll be tech-savvy and have superioranalytical and problem-solving skills. It is essential that you have knowledgeof security frameworks and standards implementation such as NIST. You must beable to demonstrable passion and enthusiasm for security, including the abilityto keep current with the latest threats, technologies, and trends. Werelooking for someone who has security related skills within infrastructure,cloud, virtualisation and network concepts and technologies, particularly in a Microsoft-centric environment (Defender, Cloud apps, Security scores, Purviewincluding Data classification and retention, Identity Management, andconditional Access).
Ideally, youwill have a high level of knowledge and practical experience in the followingtechnologies:

• Networking (LAN\WAN)
• Servers (Windows 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022)

• Microsoft (O365, AD, Azure, In Tune)
• Security Tools and Technologies and controls Defender, Cloud App Control, Security Scores, Purview, Data Classification and Retention, Identity Management, and Conditional Access Controls

• Backup & Recovery Techniques, Replication Techniques
• NIS CAF Framework
• Vulnerability Management

It would also be great if youalready have knowledge of international power generation/related energyindustries, or a passion for this area.
