Paint Technician

The Whittan Group is the largest manufacturer of steel storage products in the United Kingdom. Operating through a number of market leading brands; we design, manufacture and install storage solutions for commercial and industrial environments in the UK and Europe.
We are looking for a Paint Technician to join our busy and growing organisation. The Paint Technician will produce agreed levels of quality product, through the successful operation of various machines, while adhering and positively contributing to health and safety policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- To work in a production environment successfully operating different machinery as required
- Be able to set up and run the Paint Line with minimal input and support including the safe use of chemicals.
- Produce products in line with Company output rates.
- Follow production schedules as required and meet deadlines.
- Fill in the required SAP information and downtime data.
- Complete, in a timely, accurate, manner the following daily documentation: Daily activity reports, guard check documentation, quality control report, and any other production related reports.
- Record any scrap on the system.
- Maintain a clean and tidy workstation in line with 5S standards.
- To operate all machine controls, which are a combination of mechanical, push button and computer key/touch pads.
- Fault find on daily generic issues, escalating complex faults to the Team Leader.
- Inspection of production first offs to ensure rejects are not passed on through the process and high standards of quality are achieved.
Required experience/skills/qualifications:
- Good attention to detail to highlight any issues or defects.
- Strong communication skills
- Computer literate
Desirable:
- Understanding of mechanical production techniques
- Experience of using SAP
