The Whittan Group is the largest manufacturer of steel storage products in the United Kingdom. Operating through a number of market leading brands; we design, manufacture and install storage solutions for commercial and industrial environments in the UK and Europe.
We are looking for a Goods In Operative to join our busy and growing organisation. The Goods In Operative will manage and unload all inbound materials and product safely and securely ensuring all materials stored on site are done so without risk to persons or property and will ensure records and paperwork is well managed, accurate and kept up to date

We are looking for a Goods In Operative to join our busy and growing organisation. The Goods In Operative will manage and unload all inbound materials and product safely and securely ensuring all materials stored on site are done so without risk to persons or property and will ensure records and paperwork is well managed, accurate and kept up to date
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure 100% adherence to Health and Safety and COSHH procedures, identifying non-conformance and risks and reporting these to the line manager
- Follow all agreed operational and company processes and procedures and, where possible, identify areas of improvement and report as such to the line manager or member of SHEQ Department.
- Ensure all vehicles are unloaded/ reloaded with returns and stillages in line with suppliers and productions requirements.
- Oversee the stock in the goods in area keeping data updated and reporting any issues that may result in inbound vehicles being turned away.
- Ensure the goods in area is kept in good order, clean, tidy and well organised
- Manage the inbound materials booking system and keep records up to date.
Required experience/skills/qualifications:
- Counterbalance Forklift licence
- Overhead crane operator certificate and relevant experience
- High level of numeracy accuracy and the ability to read and understand orders.
- Demonstrable knowledge of loading competency and load safety
- Good communication skills
Desirable:
- Combi Truck Licence
- Minimum two years’ experience in warehouse operations
