We are seeking an enthusiastic Process Sample Operatorto join our team. This is a unique role ideal for someone who loves cheese and is passionate about exploring a wide variety of flavours, textures, and aromas.
You will be responsible for tasting, grading, cutting, wrapping and labelling the products to set timescales to our very high standards; sampling, evaluating, and providing feedback on our award-winning cheeses. Your insights will help guide product development, ensure quality, and influence customer experience.
Key responsibilities include:
· Tasting & eating of Stilton, Shropshire Blue and other cheese made by Clawson to ensure it meets Customers / Clawson’s taste profiles.
· Grading of cheese to Clawson’s expected standards.
· Cutting and wrapping cheese to set specifications.
· Labelling and boxing of cheese to set specifications.
· Work closely within the team to ensure samples are made within the time frames set.
· Ensure Health & Safety procedures, Quality/Hygiene standards and Company Rules/Procedures are always adhered to.
· Be responsible for and ensure product quality is maintained in accordance with quality standards.
· Take personal responsibility for own actions and respectfully challenge others where appropriate.
· Report problems or issues as they arise, which may impact on product quality.
· Undertake relevant training as and when required.
· Able to use Clawson IT Systems applicable to their role. Undertake relevant training as and when required.
· Accurate and timely use of NAV system for scanning of goods in and out.
· Ensure all records, where required, are completed accurately and on time.
· Show respect for colleagues, customers and the environment.
· Behave in an honest, industrious and uncomplicated way.
· Perform functions in line with training and work instructions.
· Timely and accurate cleaning of the area / line and ensure end of day dismantling and cleaning of equipment, tools and work area where appropriate.
· You may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as the company may reasonably request/require.
Experience & Skills
Essential
· Health & Safety focused.
· Quality focused.
· Dexterous.
· Good level of accuracy and numeracy when completing records.
· Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
· Good standard of spoken and written English.
· Basic IT skills including Excel and Word.
· Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (to be attained within 3 months)
· Must be able to prioritise tasks and deadlines
· An element of manual handling will be required, in accordance with manual handling training.
· Adaptable/flexible to meet requirements and demands of production and seasonal fluctuations.

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday 06:15-15:00
Due to the nature of the business and the responsibility of your job role your flexibility to work additional hours, weekends and shifts during seasonal periods may be requested, for the proper performance of your duties.
