Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Swim Instructor to join our team at our aquatic centre. The ideal candidate will have a love for swimming and teaching, with a focus on providing high-quality swim lessons to individuals of all ages and skill levels.
Chesterfield Swimming Club are looking for passionate, enthusiastic, and organised swimming teachers to join our School of Splash learn to swim programme. Our club is committed to ensuring that children are safe in and around water as well as providing a solid foundation for children to become competitive swimmers in the future. Your primary role will be to teach young swimmers the Swim England Learn to Swim Framework from Ducklings up to Stage 3.

Responsibilities
-Conduct swim lessons following the prescribed curriculum
- Provide individualized instruction to swimmers based on their abilities
- Ensure the safety of all participants during swim lessons
- Educate swimmers on proper swimming techniques and water safety
- Monitor and track the progress of each swimmer
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding swimmers' progress
Main Duties
- Plan and deliver lessons ensuring adherence to the scheme of work and lesson plans.
- Complete all necessary pool checks before lessons start and when lessons finish.
- Integration of Swim England reward schemes into your classes.
- Ensure safe provision of all equipment and ensure it is used correctly.
- Make sure safety standards are followed in lessons and undertake risk assessments.
- Identify participants’ abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential.
- Provide a high standard of teaching, working with the club’s Head Coach to develop your knowledge and skill.
- Be a positive role model, creating fun environment to encourage children to participate in swimming.
- Set ground rules for each lesson.
- Evaluate lessons and give feedback.
- Attend meetings with the Head Coach as and when necessary.
- To agree to abide by a code of conduct and carry out duties in accordance with Chesterfield Swimming Club and site policies, including equal opportunities, safeguarding children, health and safety at work, etc.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Enhanced DBS checked.
- Level 2 Swimming Teacher or equivalent.
- NRASTC or National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
- Further qualifications and/or CPD may be requested during employment.
We may offer a training package if someone doesn’t hold the relevant qualifications but shows the characteristics we desire
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £16.50 per hour

Experience:

• Level 2 Swimming Teacher: 1 year (required)
• Coaching Swimming: 1 year (preferred)
