Job Description Summary
We’re looking for a proactive and organised Stores Assistant to join our Toolroom team. They will be responsible for maintaining the tooling, gauges and fixturing stock system within the stores department. Making available the correct tooling against works orders and ensuring the production teams can operate effectively and efficiently due to a well-managed stock system.
The used tooling will be quality control checked and made available for next use and managing the regrind process as and when tooling needs recycling.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Once you have developed a strong understanding of the manufacturing processes, you will be responsible for:
· Collect and quality check used tooling from the machine shop.
· Maintain an organised stock system for tooling, gauges, and fixtures.
· Ensure gauges and fixtures are available and in good condition for upcoming jobs.
· Liaise with the Production team to anticipate and prepare for upcoming jobs.
· Monitor work orders and package required tooling for production.
· Handle tooling enquiries and provide assistance as needed.
· Manage stock operations and liaise with tooling representatives.
· Raise and submit purchase requests to the purchasing department.
