Accountant

- Maintain reports according to GAAP
- Bank liaison; primary point of contact and resolving general banking issues
- Flex Fund Portal – Review and approve client Flex applications, resolve finance related issues
- Maintain employee credit card portal and company gas cards; employee training for both
- Maintain gift card ordering and distribution
- Proficiency in Net Suite preferred
- Prepare all monthly bank and investments reconciliations
- Perform monthly account reconciliations
- Assist with annual audits
- Gift In Kind annual valuation
- Maintain bus pass process; manage distribution and City audit
- Reconcile petty cash
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts
- Reconcile employee benefits invoices
- Assist with managing contracts with vendors, as appropriate
- Responsible for contract compliance and record retention
- Maintain Vendor and Tenant COI / WC
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Associates Degree and at least two (2) years relevant experience preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong analytical, research and problem solving skills and ability to communicate effectively.
- Broad knowledge of computer spreadsheet and word processing software programs (Microsoft Office).
- Demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written
- Preferred: experience in a nonprofit agency, facilities management and collaborative working environment.
- Must pass a full background check.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally; work autonomously and use sound judgement; demonstrate personal responsibility and integrity; show initiative and an ability to work independently; with a sensitivity to cultural diversity, lifestyle issues is essential.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills, strong professional etiquette, and be a self-starter with the ability to multitask, follow-up and complete tasks in a timely manner with minimum supervision.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive material and maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
- Mobility sufficient to conduct regular duties within a normal office environment.
