Overview:

We are seeking an detailed-oriented Accountant to join our team. We welcome candidates with varying levels of experience, from entry-level to advanced professionals. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate is well-versed in accounting principles, works harmoniously with others, and is motivated to advance within the Accounting Department.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

Maintain and update accurate records for vendors (name, address, W9), invoices, and checks that comply with Board Purchasing Policies
Compare invoices with purchase orders and receiving records
Enter, review, route for approval, and issue checks and ACHs weekly
Prepare and file month end and year end reports (e.g. 1099's)
Enter invoices for varying groups/departments
Monitor, reconcile, and process work orders
Balance and reconcile daily cash receipt and disbursement
Compile, calculate, and bill miscellaneous accounts receivable
Perform monthly closing and reporting for Inventory, Asset Management, Fleet Management, and Work Orders
Assist the warehouse in weekly and yearly physical inventories
Perform other accounting duties as assigned

Qualifications:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree and 1-4 years related accounting experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures
Proficient data entry and 10 key adding machine skills
Effective computation and mathematical skills
Effective use of personal computers including spreadsheets and word processing software
Ability to adjust to varied duties
Ability to appropriately handle confidential information
Effective interpersonal skills
Excellent organization and planning skills
Ability to meet deadlines
Occasional overtime
