Adjunct Lecturer in Architecture, Non-Studio

Job Information

The Department of Architecture at Florida International University is seeking adjunct instructors to teach in a NAAB accredited Master of Architecture Program. These instructors teach the following non-studio based subjects: drawing, history, structures, building technology and elective seminars. Instructors are expected to hold 2 hours a week of office hours.
Adjunct non-studio instructors teach either lecture format classes of approximately 100 students or seminars of approximately 25 students. Classes are held at the FIU Paul L. Cejas School of Architecture Building (PCA) or at the FIU Miami Beach Urban Studio (MBUS).
Please note that this pool is open for the 2024-2025 academic year and is reviewed based on departmental needs. Screening of applications will occur as positions become available and continue until positions are filled.

Minimum Qualifications

Primary Instructor:

Master’s Degree in Architecture or a related field.
Three to five years of professional or teaching experience.

Secondary Instructor, Course Assistant and Other Instructional:

Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or a related field.

Desired Qualifications

College teaching experience.
License to practice architecture in United States or internationally or Ph.D. in field of architecture, history, theory, or building sciences.
