Administrative Specialist 1

Provides in-person assistance to the public and other employees at the Department of Revenue’s Payment Center desk for a variety of tax programs.

Answers questions and advises public on rules, laws, policies, and procedures.

Explains billings, sends financial statements, processes payments, comments system as to action take on accounts.

Perform and coordinate administrative tasks in support to division and agency operations. Handles large volumes of taxpayer paperwork, review for accuracy, then routes to the correct department for further processing.

Processes taxpayer payments, including large volume cash payments using cash counting machines.
Two years of secretarial or basic administrative support experience that includes records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data; OR
-
Excellent customer service skills for both internal and external customers.
-
Experience processing, entering, and/or verifying detailed data.
-
Experience handling multiple tasks/assignments/duties.
-
Experience with situations where you had to remain productive and take initiative on tasks when minimal direction from others is available.

Highly dependable and accountable.
-
Works well in a team environment.

Experience in handling large volumes of cash.

The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect the additional 6.95%.
