Assistant Chief Pilot

Responsibilities Include:
- Promote a Safety-First culture and be designated company Safety Manager.
- Ensure daily flight operations are conducted in accordance with federal regulations and company and department policies. Review and resolve flight operations issues arising from operations irregularities.
- Be highly knowledgeable of the contents of the General Operations Manual, appropriate parts of Operations Specifications, and appropriate parts of Federal Regulations pertaining to Company operations.
- Lead company safety meetings and manage incident reporting system.
- Review and resolve flight operations issues arising from operations irregularities.
- Maintain currency and qualification in at least two of the aircraft used in the certificate holder’s operation and function as a crewmember when needed.
- Develop training goals and strategies, assist in the coordination of outside training, and maintaining pilot training records.
- Function as Line Check Pilot (LCP) or company instructor to qualify, evaluate and mentor pilots.
- Assures all company instructors and check pilots enter applicable records into pilot record database.
- Immediately notify the Chief Pilot/Director of Operations of any discrepancy or incident that may affect the ability of the company to perform within the parameters of safety, regulatory compliance, and fiscal responsibility.
- Establish and facilitate new customers and missions for flight operations. Other duties may be assigned by the Director of Operations or Chief Pilot.
Summary of Essential Duties
- Interdepartmental collaboration (Safety, MX, Airport Operations, SOC, Admin)
- Responsible for administrating the Company’s safety management program and monitoring safety issues, investigates incidents, and makes recommendations to improve safety in the workplace.
- Delegated authority by the Director of Operations to exercise limited Operational Control of the Company (See GOM)
- Conduct line supervisory flying to ensure the professionalism of pilots and overall pilot standards.
- Facilitate pilot ground school as qualified.
- Encourage employees to make suggestions for process improvements or report errors
- Ensure pilot appearance, attendance, and personal conduct comply with Company policy
- Willingness to become qualified in the majority of the company flight missions.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Chief Pilot
Qualifications
- Possess a First Class FAA medical.
- Must have a valid driver license and good driving record.
- Be authorized to work in the United States and able to travel in and out of the United States.
- Commercial/Inst or Unrestricted ATP FAA
- Willing to work a varying schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must have experience and be highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Able to pass a required 5-year work history review and submit to criminal history records check.
- Able to pass a DOT pre-employment drug screening and be willing to submit to additional random drug and/or alcohol testing.
- Possess polished and professional interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and a customer-oriented mindset.
- Possess strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Able to coordinate multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal delivered with tact and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements.
- Qualify under 14 CFR 119.69 and 119.71 Management Personnel under part 135
- Have a minimum of 2500 flight hours with 1,000 flight hours as Pilot-In-Command (PIC)
- Have a minimum of 1000 hours as a PIC in turbine-powered aircraft.
Preferred but not Required:
- 133 Chief Pilot Designation
- A degree in Aviation Safety
