Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Chief People Officer will be a key member of the executive leadership team. The selected candidate will lead the company’s HR and people operations strategy and play a critical role as the organization scales to a $13 billion publicly traded company.

The successful candidate will serve as an agile and strategic executive in a high-growth environment. S/he will effectively integrate, harmonize, and scale the organization, including the organizational model, talent, capabilities, processes, and programs; elevate the service delivery model to ensure operational excellence at scale; and lead the development of HR talent by delivering best-in-class solutions.

Primary responsibilities:

Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, the Board of Directors, and other members of the Executive

Leadership Team. S/he will possess strong business and financial acumen in order to quickly establish credibility and build strong relationships with key constituents.

Drive integration and organizational change efforts to establish an HR strategy that will effectively support the

overall business objectives, mission and vision of a $13 billion publicly traded company.

Lead a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy to recruit and retain a highly diverse and increasingly global

workforce that meets the human capital demands of the company.

Evaluate and implement scalable human capital systems and policy and procedures to optimize the

integration of two HR functions, considering their broader implications across the company.

Drive a meaningful culture and D&I strategy that fosters employee engagement, and ensures an exciting

employee experience upon IPO

Upon IPO, regularly interact with the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors to present the company’s view on talent and rewards and ensure compliance with board and committee requirements.

Candidate Profile and Ideal Experience:

Amentum is seeking a Chief People Officer with strong strategic thinking skills and a results-oriented mindset who has experience working for progressive, best-in-class global organizations of similar scale on strategic and organizational issues. S/he will be a business-oriented leader who can navigate complex challenges, serve as a business enabler, and drive outcomes in a global, fast-paced environment. Experience in a publicly traded company is highly valued and government contracting experience is ideal.

In terms of the performance and personal competencies required for the position, we would highlight the following:
§ 20+ years of HR leadership experience, in roles of increasing scale and responsibility. Some
government/defense contracting experience is highly preferred.

Chief HR Officer/Chief People Officer experience at scale ($4B+), in a complex, diversified and global publicly traded company is ideal.
Experience serving as an HR leader, leading the workforce through significant transformation (i.e. IPO readiness, M&A, sale to PE, etc.) highly desirable. Accordingly, the Chief People Officer will bring associated change leadership experience, with a proven track record of success ideally in HR integration and associated support of activities to deliver practical cultural and business change initiatives that yield positive business outcomes.
Experience working in a multi-billion, complex global company required.
Proven strategic instincts, business acumen and experience serving as a trusted advisor in the c-suite. The Chief People Officer will seamlessly work at all levels of the organization, to include being a hands-on leader, capable of “being scrappy and rolling up their sleeves” when needed. The Chief People Officer will bring a track record of success delivering results in a complex and multi-functional/multi-geographical, fast-paced environment.

Demonstrated ability of partnering with the CEO and business leaders in leading a highly accountable, results-focused company where leaders at all levels focus on showing a visible commitment to the mission, core values, strategy, and operating principles.
Ideally, the Chief People Officer will bring experience engaging with a Board of Directors, including the Compensation Committee.
