Under the close supervision of an Administrator I, in the Fraud Contact Center, the Compliance Representative will respond to telephone and written inquiries, in English and Spanish, related to the validation of fraud, Identity Theft (IDT) and account related questions on Personal Income Tax (PIT) returns, filing enforcement assessments, and involuntary collection action. Incumbent will work complex accounts and have an understanding of the Revenue and Taxation Code, administrative regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure departmental compliance with tax laws. The Compliance Representative provides customer service to taxpayers who have been victims of IDT. Incumbent will gain compliance from IDT victims on valid liabilities, process incoming correspondence regarding IDT and complex tax issues from taxpayers and their representatives. Only bilingual (fluent in Spanish) positions exist for this recruitment. Bilingual candidates must indicate their fluency on the front of the standard state application (STD 678) and resume.

Working Conditions

This position is eligible for remote-working within California based on departmental guidelines and operational need. FTB has a minimum in-office requirement of two days per week for all positions including those that are eligible for telework
