Founded in 2017, Social Contract is a women and minority-owned social and collective impact consulting firm based in Wilmington, Delaware, serving clients domestically and internationally. Social Contract partners with government, nonprofits, philanthropies, community leaders, and others to solve complex social problems. Social Contract organizes our consulting products and services around five stages: discover, design, implement, measure, and sustain. Within these five stages, our team specializes in research and analysis, stakeholder engagement, facilitation, strategic planning, grant-writing and financial sustainability planning, implementation support, project management, partnership coordination, and organizational capacity building.

Position Overview: As a Consultant in the Research, Evaluation, and Innovation Unit at Social Contract, you will support complex social and collective impact projects for our clients and the company. You will bring value to our work with your experience and expertise in qualitative and quantitative research, evaluation, and data management. The Consultant reports to a Director and will provide substantial research and evaluation support, including data systems design, implementation, and management, to both client-facing and internal projects. This position emphasizes responsibilities related to evaluation, strategic and implementation planning, and building and supporting the development of internal processes and systems related to business intelligence and data management. In addition, this position will include the following activities:
  • Conduct comprehensive data analysis to inform project goals and strategies.
  • Design, implement, and manage robust data systems to support project evaluation and research efforts.
  • Support internal cross-functional partnerships to help scale the company’s data management practices.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams to ensure alignment and integration of research and evaluation activities.
  • Proactively address problems and advocate for realistic solutions and resources required to enhance data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure research and evaluation activities are conducted rigorously and ethically, contributing to the successful completion of project goals.
  • Establish and manage strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and dissemination of research and evaluation methodologies and practices within the organization.
General Requirements: The ideal candidate for the Consultant role should have prior consulting experience or equivalent. The incumbent should demonstrate insight, creativity, and abilities to manage diverse tasks, multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt quickly to new challenges. They should also exhibit proactive, resourceful, and initiative-driven qualities, along with the following skills and experiences:
  • Strong virtual and in-person facilitation skills, including educational and training sessions
  • Experience as a facilitator, including co-facilitation
  • Excellent negotiation abilities
  • Ability to build trust and handle difficult conversations constructively
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding qualitative and quantitative analytical capabilities
  • Expertise in evaluation methodologies and data analysis
  • Project management and leadership experience
  • Comfort with business software (Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Basecamp, Zoom, Slack, Hub Spot, etc.)
  • Availability to work full time (37.5 hours per week)
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Requirements (or demonstrated ability and willingness to advance in these areas):
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, and Python/R
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar
  • Strong understanding of statistical methods and their application in business contexts
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets and draw actionable insights
  • Experience in building and managing business intelligence and data management systems
