Description

The Courts of Limited Jurisdiction Case Management System (CLJ-CMS) project is seeking a Court Technology Educator to assist with educating user that will receive a new statewide case-management system in the state’s district and municipal courts.

This position is responsible for designing, developing, planning, and delivering technical training and resources.

Reporting to the CES Manager, this position is an expert-level professional who works under general supervision and exercises sound judgement and decision-making within the assigned scope of responsibilities, along with other responsibilities defined by the CES Manager. This position works in collaboration with the Court Technology Education Coordinator, other Court Educators, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders.

Applying adult education theories, instructional models and strategies, and education best practices, the successful candidate will develop technical instructional content, produce online technical training resources, host and present live training webinars, and support customers training needs. The successful candidate will be highly collaborative, production-oriented, and skilled in technical content development and training.

Salary: Range 64: $ 74,724 - $ 99,040 per year (DOQ).

  • Duration: This is a CLJ-CMS project position that is currently funded through June 30, 2025. It is anticipated that further funding will be approved through August 31, 2027.


WASHINGTON STATE RESIDENCY AND TELEWORK INFORMATION

AOC requires employees to reside in Washington State. Any exceptions must be approved. If you are invited to interview and currently reside outside of Washington State, seek more information about residency requirements from the AOC hiring manager of this recruitment.

Position is eligible to telework up four (4) days per week.

Duties

Some of the duties you will perform are:
  • Under the direction of the CES Manager, this position is assigned to the CES Court Technology Education Team.
  • Conducts education needs analysis to define educational goals and objectives, and appropriate content and delivery methods for education programs.
  • Partners with subject matter experts to develop instruction for in-person and online learning.
  • Uses and maintains a standardized resource library of relevant instructional materials, exercises, and online training resources used in the delivery of education programs.
  • Evaluates learning effectiveness to inform improvements in educational products and services.
  • Understands and utilizes current trends in continuing professional education, best practices, and best techniques to engage audiences.
  • Acts as a technical training expert for specialized judicial systems.
  • Designs advanced technical education and business analysis for court customers.
  • Develops and delivers training webinars, online-tutorials, demos, teaching materials, presentations and job aids.
  • Works with developers, testers, business analysis, business liaisons, product owners, and subject matter experts to provide professional release notes, and codes.
  • Defines the content of system workflows and business education.
  • Writes and develops technical documentation, help files, reference guides, e Service and Customer Service reference answers.
  • Analyzes and responds to advanced help desk questions.
  • Instructs judicial staff, virtually and on-site, on use of software applications and judicial policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in education or closely related field;
AND
  • Two (2) years of progressively responsible related experience in education. (Technology instructional background preferred.)

A combination of education and experience demonstrating a working knowledge and global understanding of education methodology, program/project coordination, and/or court business practices, may substitute for education and/or experience requirements.

  • Court experience (especially in case management systems.)

  • Ability to analyze and understand complex issues and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to form accurate estimates and achieve them through the use of objectives, timelines, action plans, and solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage time and resources, independently and in team environments.
  • Ability to independently design and deliver projects and programs from inception through implementation.
  • Expertise in adult learning theory, instructional strategies, and models.
  • Strong technical aptitude and self-learning.
  • Knowledge of accessibility design standards and practices for instructional delivery.
  • Ability to be highly flexible, adapt to change, and maintain positivity.
