Crane Operator - Wind/Heavy Lift Division

Borhsiem Crane Service is looking for a few dedicated Crane Operators for our Wind/Heavy Lift Division. Our cranes in our Wind/Heavy Lift Division range in size from 300-900 ton. As a crane operator you are responsible for safely operating the crane (All-Terrain, Rough-Terrain, Truck and Track) to lift or hoist a variety of materials.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
May include but are not limited to the ability to:
· Safely operate the crane within Borsheim Crane Service, LLC’s, the Manufacturer’s, OSHA, MSHA, ANSI, and state and local rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
· Inspect and maintain the crane and other equipment in accordance with DOT rules & regulations and manufacturer's specifications.
· Supervise and assist the Crane Rigger with load preparation.
· Assemble boom sections to extend or modify boom for pile driving or high lifting.
· Understand, recognize, and perform written, verbal, and hand signal instructions.
· Knowledge of weight and road restrictions pertaining to cranes and heavy equipment.
· Haul crane components and equipment to job sites and drive tractor/trailer combinations.
· Evaluate the job site for the proper set up of the crane and equipment by completing JSA daily.
· Identify all weight limits, safety regulations, and operating codes that are relevant for crane operation.
· Complete job tickets and paperwork accurately and promptly.
· Maintain electronic logs in accordance with FMCSA/DOT Rules & Regulations
· Complete and keep current all training and certificates as required by Borsheim Crane Service, LLC, Federal Agencies, and our Customers.
· Participate in Safety meetings and training.
· Wear common protective or safety equipment, such as safety boots, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, FR clothing and hard hat.
· Work both indoors and outdoors during all seasons/months of the year
· Report all incidents, injuries, and/or accidents immediately to supervisor or Safety Director.
· Work closely with coworkers, managers, customers, and crews; keeping a professional and safe environment for all.
· Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must have a valid NCCCO Operator Certification with TLL Designation.
· Valid NCCCO Rigger 1 Certification.
· Valid NCCCO Signalperson Certification.
· Minimum of 3 to 5 years of crane operating experience (300-900 ton preferred)
· Class A CDL (preferred) accompanied with a clean driving record (preferred)
· Must have a current DOT medical card
· Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
· Must be willing and able to travel majority of the time, work overtime, and work weekends as needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
· Ability to read, understand, and follow lift and rigging plans, instructions, and blueprints.
· Good organizational and management skills
· Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
· Patience, good judgement, attention to detail
· Physical Demands:
o Vision/Sight: Able to detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, estimate, focus, and assess surroundings.
o Stand, walk, and use hands/fingers to handle or feel: To operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, and position equipment, tools, etc.
o Sit: Ability to sit while driving/traveling to work locations.
o Climb (equipment) and balance: Able to ascend/descend and work atop to service equipment.
o Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl: Ability to position oneself and to move freely.
o Talk and Hear: Ability to communicate, detect, converse with others, discern, convey, express oneself, and exchange information.
o Carry weight, lift: Ability to move, transport, position, put/install, and remove parts, equipment, and tools that are 70 lbs.+ continuously.

Pay: $48.45 - $51.45 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
