Director, Business Development - Mobility

The Director of Business Development - Mobility, is responsible for formulating and executing the business strategy to build the Mobility business. This will be done by converting Chain to Belt technology across the bicycle, motorcycle, scooter, CVT and fitness sectors of our business. This role reports directly to the General Manager - Mobility.


Key responsibilities:

  • Building solid relationships with customers, vendors, and distributors, as well as the sales and marketing teams.
  • Evaluating existing partnerships and sales efforts with an eye toward building on what works and changing what does not.
  • Leading sales, marketing, customer-service, and client relationship management teams.
  • Developing and strengthening internal and external relationships that will lead to increased lead generation and market share.
  • Fostering and working to maintain an entrepreneurial growth culture throughout the company and across all teams and work functions.
  • Helping to shape the company's long-term objectives and determine plans for how to meet them.
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of company offerings to identify profitable business opportunities.
  • Directing marketing efforts by presenting market research to marketing directors and suggesting strategies to expand market research.
  • Assessing marketing and sales as well as supplier and vendor operations and recommending improvements as needed.
  • Preparing all documentation required for requests for proposals (RFPs).
  • Researching emerging trends and recommending new company offerings to satisfy customer's needs.
  • Developing and managing strategic partnerships to grow business.
  • Presenting business or marketing opportunities to company executives and management.


ABOUT YOU
You will have a successful track record of understanding the business, their priorities and what drives them. You will be innovative, focused on process improvement and enjoy working with a global team. In addition to strong organizational and communication skills, you should be team and customer focused and able to cultivate business relationships across the organization.

  • Bachelor's degree or Engineering degree
  • Minimum 15 years' experience
  • Strong planning and organizational skills. Proactive behavior. Results oriented.
  • Excellent communicator, both oral and written. Must possess the ability to design and conduct presentations.
  • Technical knowledge is considered an asset along with the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience in a clear and concise manner.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills along with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong relationship building and relationship management skills across functions and organizational levels.
  • Excellent active listening and communication skills.
  • Well-developed leadership skills and proven ability to work successfully within a matrix environment.
  • Experience in the automotive industry (OEM and/or automotive replacement) considered an asset with a passion and familiarity with mobility products.
  • Proficient MS Office skills.
  • Experience with Oracle is preferred.
  • Languages: English, additional language(s) considered an asset.
  • Travel: 30% or more.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

PAY & BENEFITS

  • Full-Time: $180,000 - $200,000
  • Bonus Eligible: 20%
  • Relocation is provided
  • Medical, Dental, Vision insurance and other voluntary benefit options: benefits begin on the first day of the month immediately following your date of hire
  • Eligible for Flexible Time Off of paid vacation
  • 401(k): 3% company contribution and additional 3% company match
  • Tuition Reimbursement
