The Director, Real Estate Acquisitions will be responsible for developing growth strategies and the expansion of Mini Mall Self Storage by developing relationships within the self storage industry and pursuing acquisition opportunities of existing Self Storage facilities.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Engage in outbound lead generation activities to build a network of potential sellers of self-storage facilities throughout the U.S.
- Source, negotiate, and assist in closing the acquisition of storage facilities across the U.S.
- Be accountable for building and maintaining strong relationships with potential sellers and brokers.
- Research potential leads from business directories, web searches, or digital resources, and develop strategic plans to enter new markets.
- Be responsible for qualifying the validity of leads from brokers, third-party referral partners, and individual sources.
- Collect and analyze business information to assist in the underwriting and valuation of facilities.
- Collaborate with senior leadership teams to negotiate to advance potential acquisitions through internal processes.
- Be responsible for updating the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and utilizing information to analyze trends and forecasts.
- Be inquisitive and stay up-to-date on economic trends and events, market reports, and industry news that impact the self-storage environment.
- Participate in industry events to develop long-term relationships required to facilitate strategic acquisitions.
- Travel as needed to conduct site visits or in-person negotiations with potential property owners.
- Experience managing key customer relationships and closing strategic opportunities
- Attention to detail in managing legal transactions in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable prospecting acquisition opportunities and building relationships from the ground up
- Bring a proven track record of creativity and imaginative thinking to build and lead a sales team while creating a forward-looking B2B acquisition strategy
- Ability to travel across the US and Canada up to 50% of the time
- Background in finance is preferred
