JOB SUMMARY
Omar D. Blair is seeking Elementary Teachers for the 2024 - 2025 school year. An Elementary Teacher performs effective teaching methods to ensure scholar success and promote an educational program which fosters achievement for all. Elementary Teachers are responsible for guiding scholars through their development so they have the foundation to succeed through the rest of their school career, and beyond. Teacher duties include developing age-appropriate lesson plans for scholars with different abilities, teaching social skills through guided activities and assessing student projects. Elementary Teachers support curriculum practices that align with ODB’s culture of connections, management and response, while also meeting state and national academic standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• General qualifications of a teacher as prescribed by the Colorado Department of Education
• Valid Colorado Department of Education Teaching License
• Bachelor’s degree
• Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND SKILLS

• Provide a safe, nurturing environment that is developmentally stimulating while assessing children's developmental needs.
• Establish and maintain partnerships that allow for open conversation on student performance, progress monitoring and social emotional development.
• Oversee and manage the correct recording of classroom documents and documentation of scholar’s progress.
• Use curriculum and standards to plan and implement targeted lessons and assessments for each student including differentiating for the needs of all learners.
• Ability to embrace the culture of differences.
• Knowledge of core academic subjects assigned and state curriculum standards.
• Use team concepts to plan, problem solve, and share space, resources, and knowledge with coworkers; support the ideas, efforts, and accomplishments of others.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, Google Suite, and other schools used softwares.
• Have the ability to with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.

INTERVIEW EXPECTATIONS
The interview process can include, but is not limited to a phone interview, an in-person and/or virtual interview, sample teaching lesson, and sample lesson plans. This process will also require proof of education transcripts and reference contact information.
COMPENSATION
Teachers will be placed on the initial compensation scale for this position based on years of experience and education level achieved as demonstrated via service records and transcripts. It is the responsibility of the employee to provide the school with the appropriate, original documents to validate their years of experience and education level.
