Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Laborer to join our team in a fast-paced food processing plant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various tasks that support the production process while adhering to strict safety and quality standards. This role requires a commitment to maintaining a clean and efficient work environment, ensuring compliance with FDA regulations, and following food safety protocols. This position involves working in the food processing plant in one or more production areas, including daily meat handling, slicing, and packing cleaning equipment. The ideal candidate must communicate effectively in English and be a US Citizen or authorized to work in the United States.
Responsibilities

• Clean equipment daily with high-temperature water. Some sanitization may be required.
• Must be able to take apart equipment safely to clean.
• Dump garbage and do general maintenance, including painting around plant, inside and outside.
• Maintain a flexible approach to work to meet team-based work requirements.
• Observe and maintain safety with particular attention to machinery and electrical equipment.
• Maintain a strict level of personal and workplace hygiene.
• Work as part of a busy team, but also be resourceful and make independent decisions within the day’s work.
• Undertake other duties within the processing or operations teams.
• Assist in the preparation and packaging of food products in accordance with established guidelines.
• Operate machinery and equipment safely while adhering to operational procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas, ensuring compliance with CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) and HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) standards.
• Conduct basic quality checks to ensure products meet food safety requirements.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize production efficiency and address any issues that arise during operations.
• Follow all safety protocols and report any hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.

Skills

• Understanding of food safety practices within the food industry.
• Experience working in a food production or processing plant is preferred.
• Familiarity with HACCP principles and CGMP requirements is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

Other Requirements

• Must be able to speak and write clearly in English.
• Must be a US Citizen or a Green card holder authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be willing to join the Union within 60 days from hire date.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical to meet the lift, push, and pull requirements shown below.
• Must purchase steel or composite-toed safety boots. Must be worn at all times.
• Conscientious, dedicated, and committed to excellence.
• Proficient with or the ability to learn HR timekeeping software.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Maintains confidentiality; ensures that the firm complies with Federal and State laws and regulations.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $25.30 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
