Be a part of the UAF College of Indigenous Studies (CIS) as a Grant Manager for the Drumbeats Alaska Consortium and support Place-Based Solutions for Alaska Native Food & Energy Sovereignty! Drumbeats Alaska Consortium is comprised of academic and community outreach programs from five Alaska Native-Serving Institution campuses and is supported by USDA.
As our Grant Manager, you will join the tight-knit CIS Fiscal and Grants team, support the PI from the Tribal Governance department, and be the main resource for all activities surrounding the Drumbeats mission and programming for directors, faculty, and staff from around Alaska. You will also be involved in other projects that typically support food and energy sovereignty.
To thrive in this role, you must be able to effectively coordinate meaningful meetings, respond in a timely manner to a diverse group of people, work both independently and with teams with a consistently positive demeanor, strategically manage short- and long-term deadlines, complete interesting and accurate federal reports and stories for a public audience, interpret and apply federal and UAF regulations, take pride in the positive impact this position has for Alaska, and be responsible for a variety of other tasks that keep that impact growing.
Minimum Qualifications:
Three years college coursework and three years progressively responsible experience related to the program specialty, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Position Details:
This position is located on the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks, and flexible on-site/hybrid work arrangements may be considered in accordance with UA regulations. This is position has the option to be full time or part time (minimum commitment of 35 hours per week), non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.
