Product Owner - Software Product Development

Job Responsibilities
Identify and define customer needs, Jobs-to-be-Done (JTBD) and use cases to collaborate with internal teams to build innovative solutions that bring high value and a realized ROI. Lead the product development of cloud hosted Software as a Service (Saa S) solutions including, but not limited to, fleet management software and truck software download tools. Primarily responsible for documenting, analyzing, and communicating requirements to the product team and leadership. Collaborate with Product Leads and Product leadership on project objectives to ensure solutions are valuable and viable and provide the desire outcomes.

Product Lead - Manage, lead and contribute product expertise in the development of feature briefs to include business and experience stakeholder requirements documents to be provided to the Delivery and Technology teams for implementation. Provide product knowledge during the development of the project charter, technical requirements, and other documentation activities. Collaborate with technology and delivery stakeholders to gain alignment on the proposed product solution and requirements. Collaborate and provide product expertise throughout the development lifecycle. Facilitate alignment and communications with internal and external customers and key stakeholders as directed by the Product Manager and/or Director.

Product and Technology Champion - Promote product solutions, enhancements, and features by collaborating with application development managers, technical leads, solution architects, experience leads and other stakeholders by gathering and evaluating customers’ needs (internal & external). Work closely with product manager to define the scope of a project. Identify business requirements and work with technical leads and architects to transform product/feature requirements into technical requirements. Collaborate with experience leads to facilitate field research and usability testing to identify and validate customer requirements. Ensure solutions consider marketing, sales, support, training, and global constraints. Proactively gather data analystics from other internal resources that support the team’s recommendations.

Communication and Documentation - Communicate with peers and leadership on the team’s status, challenges, and successes. Provide professional and business acumen focused communication. Actively participate in presentations to department and business leaders to continuously communicate the value and viability of the product and the project’s schedule.

Organizational Development / Miscellaneous - Continue to refine skills and knowledge. Share knowledge with software product development team members for the advancement of the department. Mentor Product Lead 1 by providing feedback on their processes and methods.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree (Product Engineering, Business Administration, Management Information Systems), along with at least 5 years related experience.
- Experience in identifying business requirements and collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to transform product/feature requirements into technical requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of agile methodology and SDLC.
- Occasional travel (0-5%)
- Occasional overnight stays (0-5%)
- Job requires employee to drive a personal vehicle to conduct company business < 20% per week (8 hours) and/or travel locally between company locations during scheduled workday.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor degree (Product Engineering, Business Administration, Management Information Systems).
- Experience working in software development or similar organization.
- Familiarity with Saa S (Software as a Solution).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, prioritize and influence.
- Experience presenting to business leadership.
- Product experience with Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning systems a plus.
- Possess good communication skills and desire to be a team leader.
- Possess the ability to listen and understand what the business segments are requesting to ensure a clear understanding to the development team.
Remote Work: Crown offers hybrid remote work for this position. A reasonable commute to the New Bremen, OH location is necessary as some onsite work is required. Relocation assistance is available.
