The affiliated Center for Trauma & Injury Prevention Research (CTIPR) is committed to risk mitigation and the reduction of traumatic injury and addiction through multidisciplinary research; the translation of research into policy and practice and by working in close partnership with communities and serving as a regional and national resource.
Your Role on the Team
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager to lead a community-driven traffic safety initiative designed to harness local insights in identifying and mitigating emerging traffic hazards. The Project Manager will lead efforts to develop and implement a platform that enables local road users to report traffic hazards, focusing on proactive community engagement. The role will involve reaching out to community centers, colleges, high schools, libraries and other pertinent centers to invite people to submit their concerns and identify hazard points for pedestrians through our website. The Project Manager will monitor submissions and collaborate with a traffic safety expert or consultant to obtain technical reports on the identified hazard points. Additionally, they will work with Street Stories to ensure that reported points are accurately reflected. The Project Manager will also establish relationships with traffic safety authorities, scheduling and leading meetings to discuss the submitted reports and following up on any agreements made during these meetings. They will ensure ongoing communication with the community by providing updates and progress reports through the website. To expand the program's reach, the Project Manager will revisit key community locations and leverage social media to increase participation. They will track project progress, organize meetings, and prepare quarterly progress reports (QPR) and any other required documentation.

- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Requires basic knowledge of project management principles, theories, and concepts.
- Proven experience in project management, ideally with a focus on community engagement, public safety, or urban planning.
- Demonstrated capacity to anticipate obstacles and plan for contingencies.
- Demonstrated attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to determine relevance and prioritize tasks.
- Experience in managing digital platforms, community-driven reporting systems, or similar initiatives.
- Demonstrated effective writing skills. Knowledge of all aspects of communications.
- Demonstrated competency in selecting and implementing project management methods and techniques.
- Proven leadership ability. Effective problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to put forth persuasive arguments.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- Project management certification from a reputable organization such as PMP, CSM or ACP to include a qualifying exam and / or quality assurance processes like Six Sigma or Lean or equivalent project management experience required.
