Job Description
General Functions
Orange County Fire Rescue Logistics Division is seeking qualified individuals to work on an On Call/As needed basis in various Fire Rescue departments in various temporary positions. These departments include: Fire Equipment, Fire Facilities, Supply, Fleet and Fire Hose Equipment and EMS Logistics. The Technicians On Call provide limited weekly and annual work hours and offers schedule flexibility. Scheduling conducted by the respective site supervisor in conjunction with the employee’s availability. Employee will be responsible for a variety of tasks dependent on the work area they are assigned within Orange County Fire Rescue Logistics Division. Work schedule will depend on the department and area of assignment. These are temporary positions and are not eligible for County employee benefits and are scheduled to work as needed. Work involves responsibility for assisting in maintaining a comprehensive and uniform maintenance program. Representative Duties/Assignments
High school graduate or equivalent and five years of progressively responsible maintenance and repair experience

Representative Duties/Assignments
- Schedules, assigns, and reviews the work of crews of maintenance technicians and other workers in the repair, renovation, maintenance and installation of equipment throughout various County facilities.
- Conducts inspections of contract maintenance and submits maintenance budget requests.
- Prepares cost estimates on the amounts and kinds of materials, supplies, equipment and labor needs of proposed projects; orders materials, supplies and equipment.
- Prepares reports and maintains work and time records.
- Perform inventory on shelf supplies
- Assist with pulling field orders for delivery to fire stations
- Deliver equipment to fire stations and/or repair vendors
- Retrieve equipment from fire stations and/or repair vendors
- Assist with equipment testing.
- Track asset distribution.
- Conducts annual inspection on equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Loads and unloads heavy materials from trucks and vans, moves or aids in moving heavy boxes or equipment and large objects.
- Performs other related duties as assigned

Salary Information
Pay Grade: 410 - From $15.81 to $19.89

Educational Requirements
If your education was obtained in the United States, the County recognizes degrees or diplomas which are accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE) or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). If you have obtained education from a country other than the United States, your degree or diploma must be evaluated to determine the United States equivalency by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Service (NACES) or the Association of International Credentials Evaluations (AICE) at your expense.
