POSITION: Supervisor, Computer Lab
Description of Duties: Responsible for the effective daily operation of the Business Information Technology Division computer lab. Supervise the computer lab area in the Business Information Technology (BIT) building. Assist in the coordination and posting of computer lab room reservations. Assist faculty and committees in the assigning and coordinating of computer classes with the computer equipment and available classrooms. Supervise, train and schedule full-time and part-time lab assistants. Assist students and faculty with the proper use of computers, printers and other computer equipment. Assist students with computer programming languages and software utilized on campus classroom computers. Maintain control of equipment inventory and software to include surplus and stored property. Maintain, troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on all computer equipment in the BIT computer lab. Install and configure new personal computers and other computer equipment. Upgrade software patches and computer programs. Maintain personal computer network files and security. Maintain and inventory computer lab supplies. Assist in the proposal and requesting of new items to be purchased. Supervise and mentor advanced Networking/Cyber Security students to assist Social Sciences and BIT Division. Supervise paid interns with assigning and reviewing daily activities. Maintain each computer classroom by ghost-imaging current software images. Distribute and secure software license agreements. Assist other campus computer labs and IT Services when requested. Prepare and submit reports as requested. Serve on College and Business Division committees as requested. Perform other related duties as assigned. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate's Degree or equivalent in computer related field. Two years of computer lab experience or equivalent training. Technical expertise in working with personal computers. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of programming languages, software applications, and networking. Occasional heavy lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs and frequent heavy lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs required. Ability to reach above shoulder. Frequent periods of time (34% to 66%) spent walking, standing, kneeling, bending and stooping. Manual dexterity required to work with various tools and small components
Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in computer related field. Three (3) years of job related experience. A+ or other computer related certifications.
