Position Overview:
As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing accounts payable and receivable, managing payroll, and preparing various financial reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, including invoicing, payments, and collections.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts on a regular basis.
  • Prepare and process payroll, including maintaining employee records and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and summaries as required.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the availability of funds for business operations.
  • Conduct periodic audits to verify the accuracy of financial transactions and identify any discrepancies or errors.
  • Work closely with the finance team to support financial planning and budgeting activities.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Proven work experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., MYOB) and MS Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with team members and external stakeholders.
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Current univeristy students may be considered and are encouraged to apply.
