Bookkeeper | Client-Focused Role in a Dynamic Accounting Firm

About the Role:
As a Bookkeeper at MGI Adelaide, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality bookkeeping services to our clients, helping them make informed decisions about their business. You will manage financial transactions, payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting while liaising directly with business owners and internal teams.

What You’ll Do:
  • Client-Focused Bookkeeping: Manage financial records using automation tools (Hubdoc, Lightyear, Dext) and ensure accuracy in all transactions.
  • Payroll & Compliance: Process payroll and manage STP reporting, superannuation, and other employer obligations.
  • Accounts Management: Handle accounts payable, receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Reporting: Prepare clear and accurate financial reports to help clients drive their business forward.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with clients and internal teams to provide solution-oriented support, ensuring client satisfaction and timely delivery of services.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience: Proven experience as a bookkeeper, ideally within an accounting firm or bookkeeping business.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Xero and MYOB, with experience using automation tools such as Hubdoc, Lightyear, and Dext. In particular we are looking for someone with experience handling converting clients to Xero Business products.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships and work effectively within a team.
  • Attention to Detail: A high level of accuracy in managing financial data and reporting.
  • Client-Focused: A solutions-oriented mindset and a genuine passion for helping clients succeed.
