About the Role


The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for the discovery, preparation and presentation of data that provides the decision-makers in the Kelsian Group and its subsidiaries with accurate information and meaningful insights.


Duties

• Support Strategic Goals: Ensure that your work aligns with and supports the strategic objectives of the Data & Analytics team and Technology department.
• Data Management: Identify and integrate data from various sources, including in-house and third-party systems, and apply data transformation and modelling techniques to structure, sanitise, and secure data for analysis.
• Generate Insights: Analyse data sets to identify trends and patterns, and generate actionable information and insights for decision-making.
• Report and Dashboard Creation: Develop, maintain, and review reports and dashboards tailored for different user groups, including operational staff, project teams, and senior management.
• Documentation and Process Improvement: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation such as user requirements, guides, and technical specifications; contribute to enhancing data and analytics processes and policies.
• Collaboration and Coaching: Work with business users to translate their needs into data and analytics requirements, and provide coaching and support to end users and data professionals across the organisation.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

• Analytical Skills: Strong ability to identify trends and patterns in data, enabling insightful analysis and decision-making.
• Technical Proficiency: Skilled in database technologies, data transformation methodologies, and competent in SQL; familiarity with Python or other data programming languages is also beneficial.
• Reporting and Visualisation: Expertise in using reporting and data visualisation tools to create effective and user-friendly reports and dashboards.
• Communication Skills: Clearly communicating complex data findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy in work, ensuring reliable and precise data analysis and reporting.
• Tertiary qualification in numerical, analytical, or computational disciplines (or equivalent experience).
• Two or more years of experience working with data and/or analytics in a corporate environment, ideally within the passenger transport, tourism, or corporate finance industries.
