We are seeking a passionate chef who is dedicated to creating exceptional culinary experiences. The ideal candidate will have a love for cooking, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Qualifications & experience
· Hold a relevant AQF (or equivalent) Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and
· At least 2 years of post-qualification experience as a chef.
· Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
· Ability to handle high-pressure situations and work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead and inspire the kitchen team, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
· Create and implement an authentic menu with seasonal specials, ensuring alignment with Sorrelli Cafe’s quality standards.
· Skillfully cooking a variety of dishes, including meat and fresh produce.
· Operate large-volume cooking equipment, including grills and deep-fat fryers, safely and effectively.
· Monitoring cooking times and temperatures to maintain quality and safety standards
· Interacting with diners to provide recommendations or explanations about dishes.
· Manage daily kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering, and stock control.
· Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen.
· Mentor and train kitchen staff, promoting professional growth and consistency within the team.
· Maintain budgetary goals by managing food costs without sacrificing quality.
