Clinical Research Coordinator (Identified) - ACE Trial

Fixed Term Temporary part-time, 45.6 hours per fortnight from 01.12.2024 up to 10.03.2028 with possible extension not exceeding 12 months.
The project is aimed at improving respiratory health of Indigenous children who are hospitalised with acute chest infections. The role will include recruitment of participant children and their parents/carers as proxy for their children, data collection, including conducting interviews and focus groups, and project management.
The incumbent will contribute to the research team lead by a nominated Principal Investigator, and to develop research expertise through the pursuit of defined projects relevant to a specific defined Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS) Service Group.
What's on Offer? (Remuneration)
Generous remuneration package value up to $6552.00 p.m. comprising:
- Salary range of $53.24 to $57.92 p.h. (AO5)
- Annual leave with 17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
The Ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following
- Demonstrated sound skills and ability (strategic, research, conceptual and analytical) in the planning, coordination and delivery of the responsibilities associated with health and medical research.
- Demonstrated knowledge in, or ability to learn about, the management of issues relating to health and medical research and research governance.
- Demonstrated knowledge across, or ability to learn, the legislative and regulatory guidelines related to research.
- Demonstrated evidence of high-level interpersonal skills, including high level written and oral communication skills, with the ability to consult and communicate and with ability in negotiating and influencing.
- Demonstrated high level ability to identify problems and opportunities within a complex environment and identify solutions and strategies to meet them.
- Excellent organisational skills with intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and the ability to learn use of REDCap database.
- Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island Community.
- Desirable: Certificate IV level or higher relevant to the position or equivalent work experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellbeing
- Stakeholder engagement with relevant community health stakeholders
- Good Clinical Practice Certificate - GCP (or willingness to acquire within first month of commencement).
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
