Clinical Trials Coordinator Mount Isa

You will lead the introduction, management and coordination of Clinical trials for the trials being conducted using the teletrial model at the rural and remote HHSs in Queensland. This will include upholding the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki in accordance with the Guidelines for Good Clinical Research Practice in Australia, the Guidelines of the International Conference of Harmonisation, National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research, and the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research guidelines.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the conduct of teletrials abides with the laws and regulations of the Therapeutic Goods Regulation as published by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), and state and national privacy laws. Additionally, you will coordinate teletrials for the improvement of clinical health care within the multidisciplinary environment, using project/research management methodologies, as appropriate.
Furthermore, you will be accountable for the submission of clinical trial documentation to a Human Research Ethics Committee and the relevant Research Government Officers for site specific assessments.
Travel will be required to the Rural, Remote and Regional Hospital and Health Services. This position will travel across Queensland to undertake activities as needed, and overnight or longer stays may be required. Travel frequency to be determined.
The successful person
You will have demonstrated:
- Knowledge of clinical trials and nursing experience across a range of clinical disciplines is preferred.
- Understanding of the NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research, the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research, ICH GCP guidelines and the Queensland Health Research Ethics and Governance Directive and Research Management Policy.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to establish and manage productive professional relationships and networks with a variety of stakeholders.
- Flexible and agile professional mindset and approach, including the ability to manage multiple and complex responsibilities, show initiative, problem solve complex tasks and work autonomously.
