Job Expectations
Build your career and Australia’s future.
Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.
A bit about your role
You will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of our Cloud and Infrastructure team. Your primary responsibility will be to manage Service Now queues, including incidents, service requests, problem tickets, risks, and vulnerabilities, as well as JIRA storyboards. You will keep customers informed about the status of their requests and assist them in engaging with the CHI teams or escalating priority activities. Your role is pivotal in maintaining smooth operations within the CHI team, ensuring that all processes run efficiently and effectively.
You will also be responsible for developing project plans and schedules, performing PI planning to the required level of detail, and managing key project influences such as risks, issues, dependencies, scope changes, and resource requirements. You will track and maintain detailed project schedules and financials, communicate and report project status to senior leadership and other stakeholders, and chair regular project status meetings. Additionally, you will handle escalation and jeopardy management for service requests, problems, and incidents, coordinate project delivery resources, and provide mentoring and leadership to newcomers and less experienced staff. Your contributions will help make CHI a great place to work.
A bit about you
You will have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline. You should bring several years of operations management experience in complex IT environments, with a proven track record of managing virtual environments and mission-critical applications. Experience in a Telco Ops environment is highly desirable.
Your expertise should include a working knowledge of data centers, infrastructure, cloud technologies, software, clustering technologies, and capacity management. You will demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with excellent stakeholder engagement skills. Exceptional customer orientation and sound decision-making abilities are essential.
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills are crucial, as is the ability to advocate for innovation and think outside the box. You should be able to step up as a leader and exert influence across the CHI team and the broader organisation. Additionally, you should have a proactive attitude towards identifying and resolving system and process-based opportunities, and the ability to respond effectively in a rapidly evolving environment.
