What we do

The Infrastructure and Operations division maintains national critical infrastructure for Services Australia and across government. We deliver a robust, secure, and resilient ICT environment so Australian citizens can access government services 24x7. The End User Computing branch delivers secure, reliable, accessible, and adaptable modern services by remaining on the forefront of technology to provide the right capability for our end users. This includes designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting solutions and operations for more than 60,000 users over 500 locations around Australia.

About the role

Your role will be focused on managing and maintaining our Microsoft infrastructure including the configuration, deployment, technical security and operations. This is a dynamic and fast paced area of our Technology Services group. You will provide broad technical support for project build, test and solution deployment activities for a wide range of Microsoft technologies. Your expertise will enable you to provide high-quality support to maintain efficient and effective operations in your work area. You’ll need to have strong technical capabilities to lead, manage, inspire, and motivate teams. You’ll foster collaboration and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. You’ll need to exercise independence and effective decision-making based on high-level judgement and subject matter expertise, with consideration of wider implications. Your work will be performed under the general guidance of senior executive management.

We’re looking for Microsoft Windows and Share Point Engineering Experts with a range of skills and experience including but not limited to the following:

Windows Server Engineer
The Microsoft Windows Server Engineers will provide technical guidance and support to staff and conduct complex technical work packages. You will be responsible for planning, designing, provisioning, maintaining, and upgrading physical and virtual Microsoft Windows servers and related infrastructure across the enterprise. You’ll be responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of large and complex Windows server team technologies projects including design, implementation, installation, update, and configuration.

Windows Desktop Engineer
The Windows Desktop Infrastructure Engineer will provide third level support for users and managed personal computing devices with a broad technical knowledge and understanding of the Windows Standard Operating Systems. Desktop Infrastructure engineers are responsible for managing an organisation’s desktop infrastructure. The primary responsibility is to ensure that all desktops, laptops, tablets and mobile devices are operating efficiently, and that all software programs are up-to-date. Additionally, Windows Desktop Infrastructure Engineers are tasked with improving the overall performance of the desktop environment by implementing new technologies and optimising existing ones.

Share Point Engineer
The Share Point Infrastructure Engineer will provide technical guidance and support to staff and conduct complex technical work packages, will also be required to answer queries from SES and staff members, including, Share Point (On premises and Online), Custom .NET systems and Microsoft Office 365/Azure. The Share Point Engineer will take responsibility for all aspects of the design, architecture, development, deployment, operations, administration, training and support of key Share Point infrastructure and business solution.
