Melbourne Pathology is one of Victoria’s largest diagnostic pathology laboratories, committed to providing high quality healthcare throughout metropolitan Melbourne, regional Victoria and interstate.

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Laboratory Assistant to join our busy Chemical Pathology Department located in Collingwood.

This is a casual position and participation in the AM, PM, weekend and public holiday roster will also be required. Shifts are varied as the laboratory operates 24 hours/7 days per week.

In this role you will:

• Perform routine maintenance, trouble-shooting, and operate, pre and post analytical instrument
• Prepare samples for analysis, prioritising urgent patient samples
• Perform general laboratory housekeeping duties including stock management.

The successful applicant will have:

• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a busy team or independently, as required
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving and time management skills
• Understanding of and commitment to OH&S.
