About the Role
TAFE SA is seeking an experienced professional to join our Performing Arts Workgroup as a Lecturer in Performing Arts. This role involves teaching, mentorship, and practical industry engagement within a Production House model, where students are assessed on live productions.

The ideal candidate will bring a depth of technical skills in Set Design and Props, along with a collaborative approach to working with both students and industry stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging vocational and/or higher education training, guiding students through live production experiences.
  • Build strong connections with local and national Performing Arts industry partners to enhance program relevance and opportunities for students.
  • Utilize industry-standard software, such as Auto CAD, to instruct and support students in technical production skills.
Who we are looking for:
We’re looking for a passionate individual who can inspire and guide students through hands-on, practical learning. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Expertise in Set Design and Props within the performing arts industry.
  • Experience using industry-standard software (such as Auto CAD) and online delivery platforms (like LEARN).
  • Ability to build strong connections with local and national Performing Arts partners to enhance program relevance.
  • Understanding of the technical and collaborative demands of live productions, including time management, problem-solving, and budget awareness.
  • Commitment to inclusive, flexible teaching practices that engage a diverse group of learners.

Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to demonstrate having a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) prior to being employed. Applicants who do not hold a WWCC will need to apply at Department of Human Services (DHS).

  • Out of hours work may be required and a flexible approach to the hours of duty is essential.
  • Some Intrastate and interstate travel may be required.
  • May be required to relocate to other campuses within TAFE SA.
  • A flexible approach to the taking of leave is essential.
