Job Description:
We are seeking a Legal Counsel to join our INPEX Legal team in Perth on a 12-month maximum term contract. Join us in helping shape a brighter energy future.

Key responsibilities include:
Legal support to the commercial and procurement functions.
Drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial contracts, upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas transactions, new energy transactions, M&A transactions and contracts for the provision of goods and services in support of the Company’s operations (precise responsibilities may be tailored to the successful candidate’s expertise).
Ensure all contracts, agreements and other legal arrangements are negotiated within an acceptable legal framework.
Advice to management and line personnel.
Legal research and advice on petroleum law, greenhouse gas law, HSE law, corporations law, contract law, property law, competition law, administrative law and other legal research as required.
Liaise with other INPEX internal stakeholders, personnel, General Counsel and external law firms.

Successful candidates will have:
Admission to practice law in Western Australia.
LLB or equivalent legal qualification with relevant post-admission experience.
Contract law strength, with the ability to successfully lead contract negotiations.
Background in oil and gas or renewables highly valued.
Mergers and acquisitions experience highly valued.
Proven ability to manage a large workload and provide advice in a timely manner and at a consistently high level.
Highly accomplished communication and presentation skills.
Highly computer literate, self-sufficient practitioner.
Attention to detail with a service ethos for internal clients.
Respect and understanding of other cultures.
Commitment to teamwork.
