Library Technician - Senior School

- We are seeking a Library Technician to join our Senior School Library team in 2025
- Support the students to exceed in their research
- Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm term time position
The Library Technician is an integral member of the library team, contributing to the daily operations of the Senior School Library. They provide operational and technical support to our library and information services team in delivering quality services to students, staff and wider school community. The Library Technician plays a vital role in maintaining the library’s collection and technology infrastructure, including managing the print collection as well as library software, subscriptions and digital databases.
This role is ideal for someone who likes working with children, reads widely, has a love of literature and enjoys working in a team to provide a welcoming customer-focused friendly environment.
About You
You are dedicated, passionate and possess the following:
- Good knowledge of children’s and young adult literature and reading promotion
- The ability to work with a wide range of people including students, colleagues and parents
- The ability to assist initiatives, and collaborate with team members for project delivery and change management
- Demonstrated knowledge of accessing, circulating and cataloguing items and other collection management procedures with Library Management Systems
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent written English and effective interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to establish collaborative and positive working relationships to work as an effective team member, or independently, in an agile and responsive manner
- Excellent technological literacy across a range of applications
- A relevant tertiary degree or qualification
- Appropriate qualifications
- A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card
- A current National Police Check; and
- Full working rights within Australia.
