About the Role
Santos is seeking a Marine Advisor based at Gladstone to oversee and ensure marine assurance activities carried out by and on behalf of the business are relevant, consistent, and robust to adequately manage the risk presented by marine operations. This role is to manage operational interfaces and be responsible for the safe and efficient operations of the Santos GLNG marine facilities and LNG ship loading activities.
**** Day and night shift roster is required depending on the shipping roster
Key accountabilities include:
- Act as Loading Master for cargo related operations of LNG tankers at the GLNG Wharf in accordance with industry best practice and the GLNG Terminal Protocol
- Responsible for safe Shipping/Marine related operations including but not limited to gas up, cool-down and ship loading.
- Support the Marine Supt in providing Marine Assurance
- Responsible for development and delivery of maintenance plans for the Santos GLNG marine facilities.
- Monitoring, facilitating, and reporting on vessels, MOF and MOT performance including managing ‘Management of Change’ requirements identified to maximise performance.
- Providing supervision for safe mooring operations in compliance with Optimoor simulations.
- Support implementation of Port Security Plan and ISPS drills
- Deliver shipping documentation in accordance with contractual sales agreements.
- Representing Santos GLNG in meetings with Authorities, Gladstone Port and Marine Safety Queensland.
- Support the Team with Risk Assessments/Management of terminal and shipping related operations.
- Preparing, reviewing, and implementing work procedures for terminal operations
- Manage interface for Santos GLNG including Operations, Marketing, Agents, Authorities and stakeholders.
- Member of Marine Incident Management Team
- Participate and lead inspections and/or audits of terminal facilities, small craft and LNG tankers.
- Support the team with managing the Contractor SMS and relationship with JV.
- Providing advisory services for cargo and port operations to the Santos GLNG Project, Shareholders, stakeholders and performing vessels.
Ideally, you hold a minimum Chief Mate or 2nd Engineers Foreign Going Certificate of Competency or with prior sailing experience of minimum 2 years in similar capacity. Previous experience in Terminal Operations will be an added advantage
