About the Role:
This is a Part Time Permanent position at 45.6 hour per fortnight within the Occupational Therapy department. In addition RCH Occupational Therapy has Part Time Temporary opportunities.
Working at the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) provides a unique and exciting opportunity to work alongside children and their famlies during pivotal life phases. You will be responsible for providing occupational therapy assessment and intervention services to inpatient and/or outpatient infants, children and adolescents, to support child development and maximise participation in daily activities and quality of life. You will have opportunities to broaden your knowledge, skills and experience across a variety of paediatric areas in an acute tertiary hospital setting.
Classification for this position will range from VF6-VF9 Grade 2 Year 1 to Grade 2 Year 4 (FTE base salary $86,730 to $99,699 per annum, plus superannuation)
What you'll achieve:
- In collaboration with patients and their families and the multidisciplinary team, provide assessment of function and developmental needs and interventions that facilitate care plans and appropriate discharge.
- Evidence based and outcome focussed intervention that make an impact on meaningful outcomes for infants, children and young adults during their individual healthcare journey
Your skills and experience:
- Be an established paediatric OT looking to expand your clinical knowledge and skills within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Experience working within acute care or a hospital environment
- Experience working with children who require developmental support
- Be interested in working within RCH tertiary multidisciplinary clinics (alongside engaged medical teams) to ensure children with rare conditions access the supports they need within the community
- Have confidence in educating patients/parents/discipline staff/ multidisciplinary team and members of the wider community to minimise risk and promote successful outcomes for patient care
- Be committed to evidence-based practice, and integration into everyday clinical care

About the Department:
The Occupational Therapy department is within the Division of Ambulatory Services. We provide inpatient and outpatient services for infants, children, adolescents with a wide range of medical conditions. Our team works closely with families, carers, community services and other health care professionals to ensure the best occupational therapy outcomes for our patients.

Other requirements:
- Recognised graduate-entry qualification in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor, Masters or Doctorate)
- Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain
- Valid Working with Children Check
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willing to obtain
- Compliance with RCHs “Staff Immunisation - Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases” procedure
