MTW is currently seeking an experienced and driven Project Engineer to join the CHPP team on a full-time basis.

Owned and Operated by Yancoal Australia, Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW) is an open cut mine that provides the opportunity to live and work locally. Located 15 kilometres south-west of Singleton in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, MTW relies on both dragline and load haul systems for their continuous operations. The MTW Mine is the largest open cut operation in the region, employing approximately 1,450 people who reside in the local and surrounding communities.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Projects and Engineering Superintendent, you will be a part of a dynamic and motivated team. The primary responsibility for this role is to deliver capital projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.
The role will also require you to:

• Manage capital projects including developing scope of work, contracts, schedules and budgets.
• Understand the particular characteristics of a project and apply sound judgement at each phase of the project development and execution to the handover.
• Understand key Mechanical engineering drivers in order to optimize technical solution and minimize technical risks.
• Keep abreast of innovation and best practice in the mechanical engineering field and apply this knowledge for successful execution of allocated projects.
• Apply financial / cost analysis to all business analysis and decision making.
• Provide engineering support and assist the maintenance department with maintaining process equipment and trouble shooting.
• Prioritize and sequence the required work / tasks to optimize value throughout the project.
