About the Role
Join our dynamic Human Genome Informatics (HGI) team as Project Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping Australia's contribution to responsible human genomics and omics data sharing and analysis. As an experienced Project Manager, you will support the team in the development and delivery of cutting-edge digital infrastructure projects as part of a significant new program of work called GUARDIANS. Collaborating closely with renowned Australian institutions and organisations, you'll play a critical role in planning and monitoring project timelines, budgets, and resources, as well as fostering strong relationships with multiple stakeholders to ensure common direction and successful outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Driving project planning, implementation, and delivery of the HGI portfolio through the application of appropriate project management approaches;
  • Monitoring project progress, budgets, and risks, and maintaining comprehensive project documentation.
  • Fostering cross-functional collaborations andbuilding strong relationships with multiple stakeholders, including delivery partners, project sponsors, and steering committees on various aspects of project progress and delivery.
Who We Are Looking For
You possess strong project management knowledge and expertise, combined with effective interpersonal and engagement skills to bring multiple partners, stakeholders and project activities together and, ultimately, deliver robust project outcomes.

You will also have:
  • Appropriate tertiary-level qualifications or progress towards qualifications in project management, and/or at least 5 years’ relevant project management experience, with proven capacity to apply a range of project management tools and approaches.
  • Experience working with distributed teams and collaborators.
  • Ability to plan, implement, monitor, and deliver projects within time and budget constraints.
  • Ability to handle situations that require initiative, independent judgement, and consultation with senior stakeholders.

This position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check to ensure the University provides a safe environment for everyone.

Australian Bio Commons is an NCRIS-funded research infrastructure entity designed to enhance life science research through the provision of national-scale digital infrastructure. Our missions are to:
