About the role
This role is responsible for the Management of a team of 12 Rostering Officers and the coordination of day-to-day operations, including accurate, timely and efficient rosters for Collections across Metro and the Regional NSW. Over time the team and areas looked after, will grow and you will work shift across 5am to 8pm and be available for on call. Based at North Ryde or flexible for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and ensure that Rostering team accurately data entry into WFD of shifts, changes, absences, overtime, shift swaps requests etc.
  • Monitoring, identifying any process gaps, recommending any improvement oppertunities with the recruitment, onboarding, rostering workflows, and implementing changes with relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure Rostering team posts rosters at least 2 weeks in advance
  • Ensure Rostering team maintains a pristine roster which accurately reflects staff profiles, availability, hours, preferences etc
  • Monitor and ensure that Rostering team accurately data entry into WFD of shifts, changes, absences, overtime, shift swaps requests etc.
  • Aim towards zero closures and filling all vacancies
  • Provide direction to Rostering team, decision making and problem solving
  • Coach, support and develop Rostering team to be the best they can be and provide guidance on managing difficult situations or staff
  • Support, participate and implement any national initiatives including systems upgrades, legislative changes, projects, procedures, workflows etc
  • Management of planned and unplanned closures and vacancies across Collections network.
  • Involvement in national initiatives to improve and standardise collection rostering processes

About you

  • Previous experience in rostering or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in software applications, including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • Ability to cope with short-term deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritise workloads, multi-task, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Proven experience with electronic rostering systems, WFD ideal.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to adapt communication style based on the needs of the audience.
  • Proven ability to prioritise workload and multi-task to ensure work requirements are completed within expected timeframes
  • Working knowledge of and the ability to apply Award conditions when shift rostering.
  • Solid people management experience
