About the role

The Senior Automation Tester will be responsible for performing risk-based analyses to create detailed test automation requirements, scenarios, and cases. This role will ensure that test automation coverage is comprehensive and aligns with the defined risk profile for AGL's Salesforce, Appian and SAP applications within the Customer Markets Technology (CMT) platforms. The role will assume full technical ownership of the automated testing process for applications within the CMT platforms and lead automated testing for both project-specific and BAU needs. This role will also involve mentoring team members, fostering their career growth, and ensuring both individual and team development.

What you’ll be doing

Thoroughly analyse project requirements to extract and identify relevant testing needs can be automated, ensuring all assigned tasks are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
Maintenance of the current automated regression suites in Salesforce and SAP for any change in existing functionality or addition of new functionality.
Utilize appropriate tools to raise and address project and testing issues and risks, effectively collaborating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Demonstrate strong business engagement and requirement gathering skills, with the ability to communicate impact analyses and risks clearly to the business. In situations where formal documentation is lacking, proactively extract requirements by liaising with the appropriate stakeholders, from business representatives to project teams, using suitable techniques.
Develop and execute automation scripts using AGL’s preferred toolset, as necessary, while continuously identifying and implementing improvements to risk-based analysis processes, methods, tools, and standards.
Stay informed about industry trends, standards, and methods, applying this knowledge where appropriate and mentoring less experienced team members in software risk analysis processes.
Contribute to process enhancements for regression suites and automation testing, ensuring ongoing improvement and efficiency.
Promote and uphold AGL’s inclusive workplace culture, valuing diversity within the workforce.
Encourage skill sharing and collaboration across the organization, contributing authentically to the business’s success at all levels.
Manage stakeholder relationships effectively by building strong connections with customers and business stakeholders. Work closely with them to understand AGL’s customer business strategy, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor and technology partner. Where relevant, manage vendor and partner relationships on behalf of AGL.

What you’ll bring to the table

Over 8 years of testing experience, including more than 3 years in a Test Automation Lead role.
Proficient in usage of test automation tools like Tricentis Tosca, UIPath, Selenium, Cypress and Playwright
Extensive experience in agile testing within SAFe/Agile Release Train frameworks, as well as in Waterfall and hybrid models.
Proven ability to lead and mentor team members, guiding them toward successful project outcomes and fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
Expertise in analysis, estimation, and strategic planning, particularly in the context of testing approach and execution.
Comprehensive end-to-end test management and delivery, ensuring high-quality results across the testing lifecycle.
In-depth understanding of risk-based analysis methods, with a focus on ensuring thorough risk assessment and mitigation.
Solid grasp of testing principles and structured analysis methods, alongside a robust understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Proficient in the use of JIRA and Confluence for managing testing processes and documentation.
Familiar with Lean, Waterfall, and Agile methodologies, adapting approaches to suit different project needs.
Demonstrated expertise in identifying, assessing and escalating risks in accordance with a comprehensive Risk Management Framework.
