The purpose of the role is to manage, coordinate, monitor and report on the budget and finances for the Resilient Homes Fund under the DRFA guidelines. The role will provide high level advice on financial matters and support Program leads to make informed financial decisions across their budgets and in alignment with DRFA agreements. The role will work in partnership with Corporate Finance, Public Works, QBuild and QRA stakeholders. The role reports to the Program Management Office Manager, Disaster Resilience Program, Energy and Public Works (EPW). The position has no direct reports.
What you will be doing- Managing the revenue and expenditure budgets, forecasts and associated reporting cycles, corporate and DRFA governance and overseeing other financialmanagement activities.- Undertaking the development of timely and accurate monthly management reports and other financial information to monitor the financial performance for key stakeholders.- Input to the financial components associated with reporting requirements including for DRFA, Service Delivery Statements, Financial Statements and Estimates Committee briefs.- Ensuring compliance with DRFA requirements, relevant Government legislation and departmental policies and procedures in relation to budget, financial, administrative and other corporate and operational issues.- Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders to enhance communication for better business outcomes through participating in regular client meetings and maintaining frequent collaboration in order to appreciate and resolve emergent financial issues.- Provide assistance to the Program executive and Corporate Finance to ensure compliance with the departments financial framework.- Undertaking projects to identify and improve systems, policies and processes to continually improve financial and budget management and associated reporting using the SAP system and Business Warehouse environment.
What we are looking for- You have sound knowledge of legislation and policies relating to financial, administrative and other corporate and operational issues.- Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide advice which aligns with the strategic objectives of the organisation.- Demonstrated ability in the development of budgets and forecasts, the analysis and reporting of financial performance and results of a complex organisation using the SAP system, Business Warehouse and advanced excel functionality.- You have high level communication skills (both verbal and written) including report writing, consultation, negotiation and liaison skills.- You contribute positively and proactively to the team's ability to achieve deadlines within agreed timeframes and competing priorities.- You demonstrate public service professionalism and probity; and engage in continuous improvement of work practices, systems and processes.
Mandatory requirements- While there are no mandatory requirements for this role, comprehensive knowledge and experience in financial management, and a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. accountancy, commerce or business management) and CA/CPA qualifications would be highly regarded.- Experience in DRFA or similar grant programs would be highly regarded.
