Senior Manager | AWS Data Engineer | Technical Lead

We are seeking an experienced Senior AWS Data Engineer to join our team as a Technical Lead with deep expertise in solution architecture and design. The ideal candidate will have experience in Data and Analytics, including significant experience in large-scale cloud data platform development and transformation, and demonstrate exceptional proficiency with AWS technologies. This role requires a visionary leader who can drive technical teams, architect complex data solutions, and deliver cutting-edge analytics.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers in designing, developing, and deploying scalable data solutions on AWS (Azure, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake is a plus).
- Set technical direction and best practices for data engineering projects.
- Architect end-to-end data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses using AWS services (e.g., S3, Redshift, EMR, Glue).
- Design scalable and secure data solutions that meet business requirements and compliance standards.
- Lead large-scale cloud data platform development and transformation initiatives.
- Develop and optimize ETL processes for data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
- Implement data modeling and schema design for both relational and No SQL databases.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders, to understand data needs.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical team members.
- Stay current with emerging AWS technologies and industry best practices.
- Propose and implement improvements to existing data architectures and processes.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all platforms.
- Implement monitoring and alerting systems to proactively address data issues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Technical Lead or similar leadership role.
- Extensive experience in large-scale cloud data platform development and transformation.
- Deep understanding of AWS data services including S3, Redshift, EMR, Glue, Athena, Kinesis, Lambda, and Dynamo DB.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala.
- Experience with AWS redshift, Azure SQL, GCP Big Query, Py Spark, and other big data technologies.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and No SQL databases
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code tools like Cloud Formation or Terraform.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Certified Big Data – Specialty.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks and AI services on AWS.
- Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and security best practices.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
