About your role
As the Senior Manager, Portfolio Governance, you'll oversee and guide the governance of projects, programs, and portfolios to ensure they meet regulatory standards and business goals. This role goes beyond compliance, shaping high-impact outcomes, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, and driving team success. It requires strategic thinking, the ability to navigate complexity, and a focus on fostering a high-performance culture. You'll ensure governance frameworks meet standards and add real value, aligning efforts with broader company objectives.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Develop and implement governance controls: Design and maintain control frameworks for our projects, ensuring they meet risk, compliance, and financial requirements.
• Manage risk and compliance alignment: Actively manage portfolio risks in collaboration with senior leaders and align governance practices with industry standards.
• Maintain governance oversight: Create and manage a governance calendar to ensure transparency, monitor quality assurance processes, and drive governance forums.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders: Work closely with delivery leaders to ensure projects meet strategic objectives, align with budget constraints, and drive measurable results.
• Build a high-performing culture: Lead and inspire teams to maintain a resilient, engaged, and high-performance mindset, ensuring transparent decision-making and risk management.

What We're Looking For:

• Extensive experience in enterprise project or program governance, ideally within the financial services or superannuation sector.
• Solid leadership experience with a proven ability to manage high-performing teams and interact with senior management.
• Deep knowledge of governance frameworks and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, Prince2) and experience in applying these to achieve successful project outcomes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge senior leaders when necessary.
• Proven track record of managing risk, facilitating governance forums, and driving strategic alignment in project delivery.
• PMP Certification (or similar) is highly desirable but not essential.
